Is it possible to access the local content files (/storage/0/emulated/kioskbrowser/localcontent/) files from within a 'web page'? As far as I'm aware, not possible - tried file:/// followed by the path, but doesn't seem to work
Would it be possible to add an Apache-style log file to the app, saved on the device, so the log can be analysed from time to time to see exactly what URLs/pages have been visited? This may prove invaluable for different use cases.
May be good to save to file by day, as opposed to one big file, whilst having the option to auto-purge log files older than X days/weeks/months old.
This is NOT for capturing images, however some of the placements of the kiosk don't always catch the attention of those walking by (I use small 7" android devices). Having the option to use the front facing camera to detect motion and simply play some sound clip such as a CHIME or other sound file. (maybe allow that sound file to be downloaded to the android device remotely). The thought is this could be a neat way to help draw the attention of those walking by the device to look at it and hopefully interact or check out what is being displayed over to the kiosk. (Obviously this would not work in a busy place, but in my case with small business and light foot traffic, finding a way to capture the attention of those walking in front of the device would be helpful)
The web works fine in any regular browser but in Kiosk Browser opens a blank page in Android Chrome browser.
I was debugging an issue and reinstalled kiosk browser. Now every time i touch the screen (other then the top menu) the app crashes. Verified on two tablets. Didn't have this issue on last version. Can I manually install the previous version to verify the bug?
We've just discovered an issue that we've fixed but the update takes a couple hours to appear on Google Play. You can get the APK to install manually from here if required: https://www.kbremote.net/Content/download/KioskBrowser-free-release.apk
Is it possible to change the Icon of the Custom URL Icon, at the moment we would like it to take us to a feedback page, would it be possible to change the Icon that is displayed other than the sorta hyperlink icon that is currently displayed.
Would it be possible for us to have screensaver > a signin form > homepage
And then have a session type system that took the users to the home page rather than sign in form. It would be nice if you could control the settings for this via the remote control system too,
If the software doesn't/won't in the future natively, do you have any suggestions on how to accomplish this,
Thanks for your time,
We have been testing the pro version, and it was all working fine until our device updated Android (to V 5.0.2 from 4.4). Now, we have enabled the Settings > Display > Full Screen Mode, so the user can't swipe down and the system bar is locked / hidden. The device profile is exactly the same as before, however now, we swipe down and engage with the toolbar and system settings etc.
Please advise how we can really enable the disabling of this in the android version.
My web server requires TLSv1.1 or TLSv1.2. This works fine with Kiosk Browser on android 5.0. But Kiosk Browser can not connect from our Android 4.2.2 tablets. Using chrome on the same tablets can connect fine so I know the tablet itself can support TLS.
It will only connect from Kiosk Browser when I enable SSLv3. I updated Kiosk Browser and no change. Is there some reason Kiosk Browser won't use TLS on Android 4.2.2?
