It would be great if we could display the devicename (name in Kbremote.net) in the kiosk title. We use a four letter code to identify all our devices, so if we could add a string like %DEVICENAME% which would be replaced in the device title with the device name it makes all support and identification much easier for us.

As this was simple to implement its now up and running. You can use %DEVICENAME% variable in the "Custom App Title" field within profiles.

Device name in device list

%DEVICENAME% variable in profile

App Title on device using device name

Hi, when I log in and update my profile my video file for screensaver is missing, when i do it without logging in with the same profile the video is playing????
Help me please...

If you are using remote management you must upload the file via "profile files", you cannot just place files on the device manually as they will be deleted by remote management (screensaver image/video or custom access denied/error page). Please see the "uploading files" article.

Hi, for some reason if the video screensaver is playing, the kiosk doesn't shutdown at the time required - if you touch the screen the kiosk immediately shuts down, any idea what causes this?

Hi there. Is there a way to open an external application from a webpage?
In particular, we have a link in our web-app from which we need to open the SONOS app.

We have tried the Android.openApplication(packagename) javascript function found in http://www.android-kiosk.com/jstest.htm but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Thank you in advanced for any help,

Chris.-

You need to place images in the kioskbrowser/screensaver folder. Then enable the screensaver in Settings > Display.

Further information is available in the screensaver article.

We have multiple kiosk profiles setup and we have to setup 20 to 50 tablets at a time. We would like to be able to set a default profile or device group for a readonly user. That way when the user is used to register the tablet it will get the appropriate profile for the user installed.

This feature is now live, see the remote management changelog.

In the online tool you show the battery state for the devices. It would be great to see there also the network-quality (GPRS/UMTS/WIFI), so controlling is easier on mobile devices.
