Troubleshoot Whitelist Doesn't Display Anything

Jason 9 months ago in Application • updated 9 months ago 11

I have whitelist and troubleshoot whitelist options enabled. The blocking of URLs that aren't in the list works fine, but the toast popup doesn't appear to show the blocked addresses. App 2.5.6, Android 5.0.1 on an Insignia NS-P10A6100.

We are trying to get Auth0 working in a whitelist environment, and I've added every google/facebook domain that can be sniffed for the social connections, but they are still blocked. It works fine with whitelist disabled.

Is it possible to disable the split screen feature on 7.0 (Nougat)?

User2855 9 months ago in Application • updated by Richard 8 months ago 7

The 7.0 Nougat devices that we're working with have a split screen feature that, if successfully triggered by a user, allows them to freely use the phone in the non-Kiosk window.

Is there any way for Kiosk Browser to completely disallow split-screen mode?

The 7.0 Nougat devices that we're working with have a screen capture feature that can be triggered by users in one or two different ways.

Is there any way for Kiosk Browser to completely disable user-initiated screen captures?

We're using a series of NFC stickers to open webpages, is it possible to only open a series of URLs? - i wouldn't want open an NFC sticker from an untrusted source.

What will happen to my locked down tablet when the licence runs out?

Will it just unlock and the App won't continue to run or will the tablet turn into a brick?

Kiosk App dropping WiFi

David Farmer 10 months ago in Application • updated by Richard 7 months ago 14

We are running the Kiosk App on a number of Google Nexus tablets. The tablets connect to WiFi and are running a web fronted database. We have been finding an issue where the tablets seem to loose the WiFi connection every few minutes (approx. 6-10 minutes) but if we turn off the kiosk app and use the Chrome browser on the tablet it works OK. Can you think of any reason this is happening?

Is there a way to hide the keyboard popping when the user select an input field ?

Or, do you know a very simple keyboard (without suggestions, emojis...) ?

Thanks.

NFC and File Protocol Urls

James Howard 10 months ago in Application • updated by Richard 10 months ago 5

In the documentation it's suggested that file:// URLs should work with NFC. While I can get http:// URLs working fine, I can't seem to get file:// URLs to work. I'm using the path to the localstorage, which I'm pretty sure is correct because it's also used in the kiosk browser address:

file:///storage/emulated/0/kioskbrowser/localstorage/page2.html

I've tried with just file:// (2 slashes) too but neither work.

I get the message 'NFC Tag not supportedfile:///storage/emulated/0/kioskbrowser/localstorage/page2.html'

Javascript debugging

Liam 10 months ago in Application • updated by Richard 10 months ago 1

I can't access Webview debugging tools from Kiosk Browser. According to the android web view pages (https://developers.google.com/web/tools/chrome-devtools/remote-debugging/webviews) I should be able to enable debugging by entering the URL chrome://inspect. Unfortunately doing this using Kiosk view changes it to http://Chrome//inspect and the debugging tools don't open. Can enabling debugging or allowing urls starting with chrome:// be enabled please?

PDF Embedded Inside of Frames (and redirects)

User2518 11 months ago in Application • updated by Richard 11 months ago 5

Is there any way to display a PDF that is embedded inside of a frame on a page? I have tried two sites that do this, and the page simply displays as blank.

Another site that has a "View PDF" button, appears to perform a javascript redirect of some-kind. As a result, instead of displaying the PDF, it displays the resulting HTML as plain-text.
