Hi there.

We have an application with a javascript on the homepage. The first thing the homepage does is setting the device's brightness to 1 (Android.setScreenBrightness(1)) and then it might modify the brightness based on different application variables. But it is not unusual for the screen brightness to remain at 1 given that some devices are installed in a low-light scenario where images are being projected on walls.

Now we have kiosk-browser force reload the homepage every 5 minutes, and when this happens, the screen goes back to full brightness for a fraction of a second, and then back to the level set by the homepage. It is very short, like a "flash".

We have debugged our script but cannot find any errors. We've been trying to find the root cause for this for the past several weeks, and given that this happens when the page is being reloaded, our best guess at this point is that whenever the homepage reloads, kiosk-browser is somehow resetting the screen brightness until the script on the homepage kick-in again.

Is this possible?

As always, thank you for the support,

Cristian.-

For an unknown reason, maybe done by purpose, I've got a black or empty images displayed during 10-15 seconds between my images. Is there a way to avoid it and display each image next to the previous one without this black transition?

What are the minimum hardware requirements? Will this work ok on an android tablet with 1gb ram?

I cannot see an existing javascript function for it, but perhaps a 'state' for what the device is doing - either on charge or running off the battery - would complement the existing function that provides the battery level. I know this is already in remote management, so would be great if one could access this in the app as well :o)

Not sure if at all possible, but could be useful if the kiosk was showing a site that had administrative features where you may not want to let staff access the Android ecosystem at all, but where the 'normal' operation mode should still not allow the end user to long press the power button (if that makes sense)

I cannot find this in the docs, but is it possible to just hide the 'back' button rather than hide both the 'back' and 'settings' button - possibly may be good to be able to just tick what buttons to show (ie. home, back, forward, settings, scanner, etc)

Just trying out the screensaver functionality - I only want to use one image, yet this slides across after X seconds (X being slide delay), the app should really decide if there is only one screensaver image it shouldn't slide at all and stay static

Don't know how many other people are in this boat, but we're using Kiosk Browser to turn android phones into simple web-based tools for employees at our company. I appreciate the locked-down nature of the app, but I'd like to ENABLE access to the quick settings menu, simply to permit users to turn wifi off an back on again to resolve basic connectivity problems that crop up from time to time.
We have an additional security program to prevent them from getting into anything else, but this isn't a high-security environment.

Hi,

You cannot use your own app, just a webpage or website. Kiosk Browser is a browser and not a locked down launcher.

The speech recognition annyang is currently, not supported in this browser. Allowing this will allow someone to use the kiosk without touching the screen.
